The holidays can be a stressful time of year, trying to pack in all the social events, braving the crowded malls, and don’t forget the amount of money that comes with buying everyone you love (and maybe even the ones you don’t) a gift.
We wanted to share some of our tips for making the holidays enjoyable, fun, and most importantly as stress free as possible.
Make a priority list for the holiday season
Ask yourself; What’s really important to you at Christmas?
Maybe spending money isn’t at the top of your priority list and instead you want to make an effort to connect with the people you love.
Some priorities that have nothing to do with gift buying:
- Spend quality time with my family, children, partner
- Reach out to friends and family I haven’t seen in a while
- Schedule in time with loved ones that has nothing to do with gifts
- Make sure the people I care about know I’m thinking of them
- Create some lasting memories as a family
Create a list of who you need and want to buy gifts for
Gift giving can be one of the most stressful part of the holiday season, that’s why it’s important to create a list of who you want to give a gift to and what you think they would like, that way you’re organized ahead of time and can probably get most of your shopping done online without ever having to step foot in a busy mall.
Don’t overcommit or overpromise
It is so easy to get wrapped up in all the hustle and bustle of the holidays and say yes to every single party, gift exchange, and social night out but doing this can leave you burnt out and dreading your social engagements instead of looking forward to them. Try to only say yes to 1 event per week if possible, and when someone invites you to something tell them you have to check your schedule and will get back to them soon, that way you have some time to think on whether or not you actually want to attend.Happy Holidays - @Tubify Team
